Settling.

It's taken a few weeks but we're beginning to feel settled in our new home. The nice thing about moving just a few houses down the street is that I was able to take items directly from one home to the other and immediately put them away. No boxes! No unpacking! The downside is that it took a bajillion car loads to do it. Ryan has been busy painting and I've been busy tending to sick children. Winter hasn't even begun but we've been hit with colds, coughs and ear infections with a vengeance. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we're making our way out and looking forward to enjoying this last bit of fall.

Now on to some importance business- what to name this new place? Any suggestions? Ryan was joking this morning that we should call it The Pine Needle House. Thanks to the wind we've had lately our yard is covered in them! I would love to hear your ideas though. The Pine Needle House just sounds silly.

p.s. More pictures to come soon dears. Thanks to a couple of sick boys this is the best I could do today.

  1. Oh goodness, it sounds like you've been busy! Is that a willow or a birch in the front yard? Maybe the "Willow House" or the "Birch House". I do like the pine needle house :) Or, maybe "The Forever House"?

  2. What have been the other names for your houses? What about Brick House? Or would that just invite people to sing "she's a brick houuuuse" every time you said it? Incidentally, I just looked the song/video up and WOW. That's all I've got to say :)

  3. So happy to hear you're getting settled, but not that you've been tussling with colds and coughs! Fall is my favorite season, but not the constant runny noses. And as for home names, I stink at those. They always sound corny and unnatural. I just don't have the gift! Give it some time; I'm sure something will just start to feel right!

  6. I'm eager to see what you will name your house... and I'm casting my vote for something other than the pine needle house. ;)
