Craft Camp 2013 | Day Three.

I'm sure you've noticed how proud kids are of the things they make. Oh how their sweet faces light up when someone compliments their creations! That's why every year during camp I like to have the girls make something they can wear. It gives them more opportunities to receive nice comments. So with that in mind, day three of craft camp the girls each made these cute wooden faceted necklaces.

I packaged the wooden beads and ball chain in cute kraft paper bags and wrote the girls names on them.

The necklaces were obviously simple to make. Really all it took was painting the wooden beads then stringing them on the ball chain. This was the perfect project to spend some time discussing color theory. We talked about warm and cool colors, complimentary colors, how color inspires us to create and then colored a color wheel.

It was rewarding to see my little campers arrive to craft camp the following days wearing their necklaces. They were so proud!

Here's what we used to make our necklaces if you'd like to make one too:
Wooden Faceted Beads
Ball Chain found at my local Hobby Lobby
Martha Stewart Paint in Raspberry Ice, Geranium, Yellow Gold, Beach Glass, Champagne, Sea Lavender
1" Poly Foam Brush
Kraft Bags
Color Wheel Printable
