A Nautical Baby Shower.

While I'm not much for themed parties, I do love injecting a few simple theme-ish elements into an event to make it feel thought-out and special. I was able to host a little baby shower for Randi on Saturday and that's exactly what I tried to do. An anchor here, some stripes there, and a darling hand lettered chalkboard sign by lovely lindsay pulled it all together.

The shower was set for 10:00am which meant brunch was in order. I prepared a breakfast casserole + cinnamon rolls (recipes here), Stephanie's delicious Blueberry Breakfast Muffins and a fresh fruit salad.

For decor I went to the local grocery store and grabbed three bunches of baby's breath and arranged them in vintage blue glass mason jars.

The favors were boxes of saltwater taffy finished off with a handmade button pin made out of the same fabric from the banner and invitations.

I have to tell you, I couldn't have been more in awe of Randi and her 6-day-old baby, Jack. Not only was he just six days old, they had also just completed an out of state move two days previous! Whew. Just typing that out made me tired.

It was a fun morning, spent with sweet ladies and the babe with the best set of locks I've seen in awhile.
