School has finally let out for Summer vacation around these parts and we're thrilled! We're ready for days at the pool, craft camp, boating on the river and sleeping in.
I like to give the children's teachers something special at the end of the year to thank them for all they do. Last year I put together a few Summer In A Basket kits and was so happy with the teacher's reactions. They loved them! This year I decided to stick with the basket idea and create a First Day of Summer Picnic Lunch.
Each Basket contained:
Izze
Kettle potato chips
A yummy sandwich
Fresh cherries
Chocolate bar
I also included a paper napkin and used wood excelsior
as a basket filler. The baskets were purchased from Hobby Lobby. The kraft ripple cup is from Garnish.
I think it would be a sweet idea to put a few of these together then deliver them to friends a week from today on June 20th. The official first day of summer here in the northern hemisphere.

How cute!

ReplyDeleteDanyelle, ADORABLE!!! I used some natural wooden creates for a bbq table setting, that I'm also using today for Fathers day - now i want to use them in the next couple of weeks for little lunch kits. maybe for my girlfriends. SO CUTE!!! you are a gem with creativity. xo.
ReplyDeletebtw, I'll be in the tri-cities somewhere between August 25-30, would love to meet up for a soda or lunch!

Such a cute idea!! Your nail polish is adorable by the way! Would you share the color? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWonderful picnic basket idea. I suggest that if anyone will try to do this, they should buy a very sturdy basket because that bottle is heavy.s
ReplyDeleteI guess I could also bring this for our camping trip, in addition to the usual food we bring during camp out. Chips will always be a hit, and a wine is surely a great drink on a cold night.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking about making a personalized picnic basket that I will be giving away as a promo gift to my newly opened business.
