Settling In.

We did it! We successfully moved. Boxes are unpacked and furniture is placed but there is still plenty to do. Floors to scrub, window treatments (and giant chandeliers!) to remove, plus deciding where to hang things. I'm feeling settled and unsettled all at the same time. I'm missing the cozy brick house and loving this one.

The yellow house is where our story continues. The wrap around porch and creamy colored pellet stove will be the scenery in this next chapter of our lives. If you didn't notice in the picture above, the children couldn't be happier. We moved ourselves into a neighborhood where some of their favorite people reside. Grandparents, cousins and friends were all waiting to welcome us. And the yellow house? We love it more than we already did. I'll be snapping pictures as things around here begin to take shape. Until then, you can get tiny peeks on my instagram feed. One question. How do you feel about floral wallpaper?

  2. Hmm, I like floral wallpaper half of the time, it has to be right! What a cheery home - it reminds me of some houses near my parents...they are all painted easter egg colors! LOVE the built-ins on your instagram :)

  9. Gosh, I'm jealous... as I sit here surrounded by boxes, boxes and more boxes. It seems like all I've done for the last week is unpack. I'll be glad to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Wishing you wonderful memories in your new home!

  10. What a lovely picture!! Congratulations on your move!
We're putting our apartment in central Copenhagen up on the market in two days.. I will miss it a lot! We had a huge living room with a flower wallpaper on on wall from the 1940-50's Swedish designer Josef Frank called "Eldblomma" and the rest of the walls were white. It looked fantastic!! But then again Josef Frank pretty much rocks..

  15. All this yellow house talk (and the vintage inspired photo) have me thinking about the classic movie "Summer Magic". If you haven't seen it, sit down with your kids and watch! So fun and perfectly fitting for your sweet family and new home! Congratulations! What an exciting new adventure.

Old 'granny' floral wallpaper from like the 90's, not so much. But a new modern floral design, LOVE!
