I post a lot about what makes me happy and the positive aspects of my life. I think this often gets misunderstood. Being happy doesn't mean we don't have trails and challenges. It just means that we look for the happy. We seek it out. In my own life, when I take notice of the happy I handle the unpleasant more gracefully. I am more patient. I understand those wise words "this too shall pass" a little more. I have a better perspective. I believe even in the most common of circumstances there is happy to be found.

Common things making me happy today:
-A husband who picks up the slack when I'm under the weather.
-Happy texts between friends.
-Cozy pajamas and warm slippers.
-A new movie.
-Kind emails that brighten up the day.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend. Keep your eyes peeled for commonly happy things and come tell me about them. I'd love to hear!

  1. I couldn't agree more. That which we focus upon grows. Why not make it be the good stuff? Hope you are on the mend.

  2. I wholeheartedly agree. When I choose to focus on the positive and the good in my life, it helps me see that although there are hard things and trials, the good by far, always outweighs the bad. (whoa. how was that for a run-on sentence?)

I love your blog because you focus on the things that bring you happiness and joy. Knowing you, I honestly can't see you doing anything else and that's why I always come back.

    Love to you, my friend!

  3. Love this!

    our happies....
    ~chinese food floor picnics.
~primary activities where the nursery children are included; this means a 2 hour free date!
    ~snow. snow. snow.
    ~your blog of course.

    p.s. what new movie??

  4. I compleatly agree, I think sometimes the negative things in life can eat up all our energy, so actively seeking out the happy things makes it much easier to deal with the unhappy times. In my experienec things never turn out as bad as you imagine they might.

  7. I just have to say thank you. My life has hit one of those small rough patches. This was the exact reminder I needed today. I put it as the background on my laptop so I will see it everyday.
