Surprise!

You know what's fun? Surprising your daughter with tickets to the Taylor Swift concert the day of the show, minutes before you pack up the car and make the drive over the mountains. That's what I did Wednesday. You should have seen Abby's face when I told her (tears welled in her eyes and everything!) . She knew her best friend was headed to the concert but had no idea I had purchased tickets months ago for us as well.  It was a perfect couple of days spent with our favorite people. We finally made it to the new American Girl store too which was like icing on the 9 year old girl cake. I think I can officially count this as the best executed surprise of my life. Have you ever surprised someone or been surprised with something amazing? Do share, I'd love to hear all about it!

p.s. The best two parts of the trip? 1. Listening to Abby and Brynn giggle and giggle and giggle in the backseat. 2. Hearing Abby sing along with Taylor with all her might. It was darling and something I never want to forget.

  2. Wow! What a coincidence...I have an Abby, 9 years old, a HUGE fan of Taylor Swift and, guess what? she's playing with her American Girl dolls right this second!! How fun is that? I would love to treat her to a concert, but sadly I couldn't get tickets before they were *poof* gone...very quickly!! Sounds like you all had a great time!

  7. Sounds like you had an amazing trip. One of my friends who lives in Seattle surprised their daughter (who is 9 ) with tickets as well. How was the American Girl Store??? I bet your daughter was on Cloud 9!!!!
The best Surprised I ever pulled off was for my husband. He was graduating with his Masters Degree from Eastern and we were having a big party after the ceremony. My best friend and her husband (who is a pilot) flew in from Michigan to surprise him. He was SHOCKED!!! It made me smile for weeks, to know that we were able to pull off such a big surprise!!!

  8. Thats so sweet! Last year I surprised my little sister (18) with tickets for our favorite band Paramore -but since they didn't come to Germany we flew all the way down to London to see them in the O2 Arena...it was rad. The biggest surprise for both of us was the fact that we had literally the best seats...amazing night!

  9. Aw...that was so thoughtful of you to create such an amazing memory for your daughter. She will never forget it!
I took my daughter to see one of her favorite authors and she was so excited that she could hardly talk. The timing was a bit challenging because we were leaving for vacation, but I just postponed everything and made room for her dream of meeting the author and receiving an autograph.
