2010 Word Update.

As you may or may not remember, my word for this year is "learn".  I am constantly feeling  the pull to improve my aptitude.  I have a lot of interests and I felt like the word learn would help me stay focused.  I plan on updating this little space every so often with my progress.  So far this year I've learned:

Some photography skills.  Thanks to Nicole Gerulat and her amazing Photo 101 Crash Course, I can now use the "manual" mode of my shiny new camera.  I took Nicole's class on our anniversary weekend trip + highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in polishing up their photog knowledge.  If Nicole isn't teaching a class in your area, definitely snag her book.  I bought one + have learned tons!  You won't regret it.

I look awful in black.  Bleh.  Why didn't anyone tell me?  My skin...it's so pale and the black isn't helping.

BYU offers free online classes.  I'm taking this one first.

Oliver's hair curls around his ears.  Especially after his naps.  Isn't he darling?

  6. `I love how you are completely incorporating your word. You are a wonderful example.

`Pale skin is more beautiful because it means you won't look like leather in your 50's.

`I love BYU's online courses. They help me feel like I can stay at home and still be knowledgeable!

    `And yes, he is darling!

  9. I totally agree with you about the black (that you look bad in it, but I feel the same way about myself). It seems that just within the last couple years when I see myself in black, I look completely washed out. And tired. Not good.

Excellent about the camera; good for you!. I'm trying to do the same thing. Thanks about the camera info. Always helpful.

It looks like your boy kind of likes you... Ha ha. More like he thinks you're better than a set of shiny keys.

  10. ummmm, you're wrong. You look amazing in black. Your fair skin is one of the most beautiful things about you. It's very Audrey Hepburn. And we all know how great she looked in black.
