Little Things.

The weather is gray, it's chilly, and to be honest friends, I'm pining for summer.  But this morning as I was rushing to grab my coat to take the children to school, my heart skipped a beat as I opened my coat closet.  After three years, I finally have the organization system this little space has needed.  Silly to be so excited over such a simple thing? Perhaps.  But isn't that what life's all about?  Finding joy in the everyday things?

This shoe rack just happened to fit perfectly inside, and these boxes now house the the mountains of gloves, scarves + hats that would inevitabley end up covering the floor.

What is making you happy today, dears?  The children reported Punxutawney Phil saw his shadow...what are you doing to endure these last six weeks of winter?

  1. Okay, that is the prettiest coat closet I've ever seen. It made me swoon and it's not even my closet.

  5. I will have to come over and take a look at your shoe rack. I don't see any of Ryan's shoes on there and wonder, "will adult shoes fit as well?" My boys feet are almost as big as their dads and I need something to house growing feet!

  12. so lovely! the green boxes (which happen to be my most favorite-est color ever) are just perfect! bravo on your closet skills. :)

as you may have heard via the news, the mid-atlantic is in the middle of some crazy snow storm(s). i've been trapped in my house since friday--work has been canceled, car is under mountains of the white stuff, etc.--and we're in for another foot or so starting this morning. eek! so, to get through these last couple of months of winter, i'm drinking peach/pear soda from target's archer farm brand (yum!), painting my toenails hot pink, and thanking God for the four seasons so that i will be thankful for the much-needed change that comes with each one.

    with love from pittsburgh,
    laura
