In all, Abby and I made 25 friendship bracelets. I helped make the boy bracelets (10) while Abby focused on the 15 girl bracelets. She finished them all in about an hour and a half. A little Friday night and a little Saturday morning + afternoon.
We kept the pattern simple by using a basic braid. Then, we fancied them up a bit with a sweet card + punched holes to lace the bracelets through.
What I wouldn't give to see her face as she hands them to each of her friends.
I just might sneak in to their little party...
POST EDIT: After receiving a lot of emails from you dears, I'm now offering a printable PDF of the tag I used on Abby's friendship bracelet valentines. Hooray! You can download the file here. Enjoy!
Oh, in case you were wondering, I used this 2.5 inch scalloped edge paper punch
to cut the circles out.
Download Tips: All of my free downloads are Adobe PDF's. If for some reason you have trouble downloading the file, it may be helpful to update your Adobe software. You can do that right here.

ReplyDeleteI just found this on Pinterest and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! My daughter is in 6th grade this year so no V-Day party, but I know she'll want to give her few closest friends a little something. These are perfect....and the little note, totally adorable! And I'm thinking you could easily adapt the saying to include other holidays:
ReplyDeleteThese would make a great B-day party favor and you could just change "class" to "birthday party."
Thanks for sharing!
Do you have a tutorial on how to make the notes?
ReplyDeleteadorable
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! I was just telling my 6 year old I am going to teach her how to make friendship bracelets. Did you use a template for the circle and quote? I'll look for a circle punch, just what my scrapbooking accessory collection needs. : )
ReplyDeleteThank you!
What an excellent idea.
ReplyDeleteWe used to cut out hearts and write a Scripture verse on it and punch a hole and add a string for a necklace. Kids loved them.
What type of string did you use? Where did you get the template? I think I will do this for my students for Valentine's day.
ReplyDeleteWow! These are so fun! I'll bet your daughter loved that she could help make them with you. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm featuring these in my V-Day round-up this week!
Thanks for the lovely inspiration (as always).
Aloha,
Charlie
Thanks! I'm making these with my daughter for her first grade class!

Just made these for my daughter for her Valentines. She is SO excited. She even learned to braid. She made one and I made 20! The link to print was AWESOME! THANK YOU!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! What a GREAT idea!
ReplyDeleteHi Dandee, I love this idea. We are so doing this. I need some help though. I went to find the punch and the one I got seems to be a tad small. I believe it is 2in and not 2.5. How did you create the cards so maybe I can replicate only smaller OR do you happen to have a version a bit smaller. I love your ideas!!! It is really great for those of us who love to do but lack the creative thought!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and I made these tonight! They are super cute, thanks so much for posting!
ReplyDeleteI need help is ebroidery floss your using and how many strands for each color cuz I see the braid pretty thick.
ReplyDeleteLOVE THESE! Thanks for sharing your printable! I am getting ready to do these with my son... do you have a printable that has different color circle? He isn't too "hip" on pink. :) Thanks again! :D
ReplyDeleteI was wondering the same thing about the pink circle...any chance you happen to have another PDF with a boyish colored circle? My son and I have all the bracelets done just working on tags! Thank you these are GREAT!
ReplyDeletedoes anyone have directions for how to make this type of braid?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I'm a teacher and I'm going to make these for my class, right away! I just laser printed them in black and white onto cardstock and then I'm painting them with a wash of colour. I'm so glad that I procrastinated on my valentines :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for being so generous to share this. We moved this year, so my 3rd grade daughter is new to her class (and school). To make matters more difficult, she has a particularly contentious classroom environment. This will go a long way to making the environment better for all the kids! Thanks so much again! Love, Shannon & Brenna Tiger -Mequon, Wisconsin
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for posting the pdf for this. I was just trying to make it for my daughter and got frustrated because it was not as cute as yours. So thankful for pinterest and for finding your site. :) THANKS!!!!
ReplyDeleteI loved the idea of being a friendly boy Valentine, my son didn't want to make friendship bracelets though. We used the template to make goodie bags for his class with knot bows! Thank you!
