A while ago Stephanie guest blogged over at Petit Elefant and shared a genius idea I HAD to pass along. She created a drawer in her kitchen just for toys. Now I have to say this idea jumped right out at me because believe it or not, I have more drawer/cabinet space then I can handle. This cozy brick house has a modest sized kitchen, which is sectioned off from the rest of the house, but because of some great planning has amazing space. It was a simple thing to do, and Miss Audrey couldn't be happier. You can check out Stephanie's other organizing tips here.

She looks so cute with her little hair clip!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea! Dang it, why didn't someone share that with me before I pur my playroom right smack in the middle of my house next to the kitchen!
That is definitely a good idea...but only if you have extra space in your kitchen! I, unfortunately, need at least 1 more drawer as it is for dish cloths & towels, bibs, and oven mitts. I did put the tupperware and lids in a bottom drawer and Madelyn LOVES getting into that.
ReplyDeleteAudrey looks so grown up and so stinkin cute! I love the little hair clip too!
Look at Audrey!! So adorable in all her chub! And her darling little clip and clear blue eyes. What a beauty! Great idea :)
ReplyDeleteShe is a cutie!
ReplyDeleteMy Grandma had this in her house and when i was younger I would dash to the kitchen and get out the "toy drawer"....good memories.
She is so adorable! And what a great idea!

ReplyDeleteSuch a cute girl!!! She's looking so much older. I always get a teeny bit sad when my babies lose their baby look, and start looking like big kids. Love her little hair clip!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea. I used to have a drawer dedicated to tupperware and other plastic things that I didn't care if the kids got into. They loved it because they could play while I was cooking, and I loved it because they couldn't break anything.
LOVE your beautiful cabinetry!
this reminds me of my grammy's house, too. she had a drawer of "safe" kitchen things that i remember my little sisters getting into - and then lucas when we went to stay.

hello miss audrey! the cutest little polka-dot ever!
love, lindsay
This was a lovely idea my mom had for us when I was a baby. Instead of crawling around her feet during dinner prep, I played in the drawer. It's been lovingly named "the toy drawer".
ReplyDeleteI have ALWAYS had a drawer the kids can destroy. usually it's the tupperware drawer. i will have to add a few of hyrum's toys in there too.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAnd Miss Audrey is quite the cutie!
Such a good idea to make "little helpers" in the kitchen feel like they are a part of what their mothers are doing. I wish Morgan liked toys instead of plugs and chords and cell phone chargers. Ugh...
ReplyDeleteAudrey looks like such a happy little gal to have around!

ReplyDeleteCute hair-do Audrey Mae!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are enjoying this tip. Sometimes I wonder if they are even worth posting! This gives me great encouragement ;) I bet Audrey loves being close and you love having her close!

Looking cute…..! and what a great idea of hiding toys in kitchen.
ReplyDeleteMy Mom did that when she was raising me and my siblings. Above the toy drawer, was a lid drawer then the fun towel drawer. Simple things bring about great delight to young children.
ReplyDeleteI did the same for my children.
