Halloween Decor.

I have never decorated for Halloween in the past, but for some reason this year, my children have been begging for it. All of a sudden the fresh pumpkins aren't good enough. Spooky bats and cats were my solution. I didn't want to add fake spider webs, or skeletons that might really scare the younger ones, so simple silhouettes in my drum lampshades did the trick. Everyone is happy and scared [in a good way.]

I found the templates for the bat and cat here. Traced them onto black paper, cut and taped them to the inside of my lampshades. I had so much fun on this project, I keep thinking of other ways to spookify our cozy brick house. I'm considering adding a few black crows to the mix for good measure. I also REALLY love this idea on Design Mom.

  7. those look so cute, I don't have good lamp shades to do that to, and it probably wouldn't make sense to buy new lamps just to put up paper bats! :( Those are so cute though!
