Ouch.

Hello friends,

Typing with one hand is hard. Especially typing with your left hand when your right-handed. Hard...but necessary after you slice yourself while cooking up a feast for some friends. 21 stitches later, my hand is in a semi-permanent "thumbs up" sign and throbbing. Blogging will be light for the next couple of weeks.

Kisses,
Dandee

  18. Lisa, Danyelle actually cut it on the edge of a can while trying to get it open. So I'm pretty sure it was a nasty jagged cut.

Danyelle, you better call if you need anything!

  24. 'thumbs up' you are funny in a not very funny situation.
i have dreaded just the thought of being handless as a mom. good luck. glad you have such a great husband to help you out. and i think a set of really dull knives is in the future for you. if you wake up one day and your really sharp ones are replaced with dull, old ones, those would be mine and i switched in the night just so you won't be hurt again. i know, i'm that nice.

  25. I was so sad about the whole thing! I hope you recover quickly! I appreciate you sacrificing your right hand for the sake of the BUNCo women!

  28. You and I are kindred spirits. I am CONSTANTLY cutting open my fingers in the kitchen. Even my kids mentioned the other day about how I always cut myself when preparing/cooking food. I thought that was pretty funny. I'm glad I'm not the only one :(

P.S. If those yellow shoes under "something pretty" are the ones I blogged about awhile back from Target, they are now on clearance there!!!

Hope you heal faster--lots o' neosporin and bandaids!

  31. Man, what is it with these horrible things happening to the best of people? I hope your hand gets feeling better soon. When you get back to feeling better and functioning better, do you think you could show us some of your tips for organizing photographs? I am in need of some help. Photo albums? Computer storage? File them away? Box them up?

  33. Hey Danyelle. I was thinking about how awesome you were in the clothing class you did for the girls, I was wondering if you could give a class on proper use of kitchen knives. Would that work for you? I am so sorry. That must be so hard to work with a baby right now. I wish you a very speedy recovery. You always get a thumbs up from me to you :)

  34. Sorry to hear about your hand. It's amazing how much we do with our hands everyday and how much we are lost when we can't use them as we normally would. Hope you heal quickly!

  37. 21 stitches all while cooking up food for others to enjoy. You are so awesome. I'm so sorry about the stitches. Very inconvenient. I too have gotten stitches in my hand while cutting food. Keeping your hand dry is the hardest part. You will really be appreciating your hand and fingers when those stitches are out! Love ya!
