Neglect.

Yesterday I was sick. So sick in fact, that I spent most of the day lying on the couch, grasping at my stomach, and writhing in pain. This meant that the children had free reign. They watched movies, played the Wii, ran outside, [probably in the street] and...got into superglue. Miss Audrey is covered. Her sweet little hands are wrinkled and scratchy. Her soft hair is crispy. There are patches of glue stuck to her chubby thighs, her nose, her forehead. I wish I could say it was the older children, but actually, it was my dear husband who left the glue out. Open. At arms reach from the floor. I am considering it a tender mercy that miraculously the glue was not closer to her eyes or mouth. No permanent damage has been done and the evidence of my neglect should wear off in a week or so. At least that's what I'm hoping.

  5. My sister-in-law just had a super glue accident (the whole tube exploded in her hands) and after some internet searching she found that hand lotion will take it off. It's worth a try. Good luck!

  6. That's just not good. Sorry that you were sick and that Audrey has glue all over herself. She's a cutie even with glue on her legs, cheeks and hands.

  15. Oh, yuck. I'm sorry you've been sick. It's always when I'm sick that I wish I could be like a little kid. You could just sleep all day, watch TV, have no responsibilities except for just getting better.

On a positive note though, I'm with Lindsay. I bet Audrey had a blast!

Hope you are feeling better, sick is one thing, but sick with little ones is a whole step above. So Sorry!

  18. She should have come hung out with Auntie! I would take that sweet chubby little elf any day. Mitch got into what he thought was the fluoride drops when he was a wee tike. Thankfully he got the super glue instead. Turns out superglue is way less toxic than fluoride and within a week it was gone from his tongue. Taught him. He never tried to get into the fluoride drops again though.
