[Soule Mama's craft room]
Hello my dears!

Since the flood damage has now been fixed, we figured this is as good a time as any to organize all our stuff. Too much stuff, if you ask me. I will be spending my weekend sifting through totes and totes of children clothes, craft supplies, Christmas decorations, and craft supplies. Did I already say that? Anyway, I would love to hear how YOU organize your craft stuff. I have so many different categories, i.e. paper, sewing, embroidery, ribbon... Are there any great organizing products you know of that I should know of?

Have a happy weekend, friends. And remember this sweet one in your prayers. She needs them.

  1. Ooh how fun! Seriously, I really do love organizing when I'm in the mood for it. For her sewing stuff and other small things my mom always used the tool organizers you can get at Lowes or Home Depot. They have lots of little compartments for all those little things, and you can label them too. I also love the picture organizer boxes at craft stores that you can label for random things. They have some cute ones! Oh, and for things that you need to take from place to place, get a fishing tackle box! I have my cake decorating stuff in mine. Good luck!

  2. I wish I could help. I have no craft things. I buy as I use. Its a wonderful thing to have a space and be so crafty. I love that about you.

  3. Danyelle, I just hit the Container Store in Seattle and am ready to tackle my craft closet so this topic is certainly on my mind. I bought some stainless shelf basket things (I don't know their official title) from the Container Store that I'm really excited to use. I have a lot of dead space between shelves and this will solve that problem. They come in small, medium and large and range in price from $14.99 to 21.99. I bet they have them on their website. I also liked the gift wrap holder for the back of closet doors. It's about $25 and at the Container Store too. That might be helpful for other things besides gift wrap too. I like the Martha Stewart ribbon container at Michaels. Pretty colors and pretty cool price too--I think $16. Also those IKEA metal boxes are great too!

  4. I bought a rolling wire cart for my sewing stuff. I can put all of my thread, scissors, etc on it and roll it wherever I need it. It is easy to get out of the way, too. Ihave seen them at Costco and Lowes.

  5. cute craft room. I have a little sidetable the same color of those walls (thanks marilyn). I love it.
    good luck with the organizing.

  6. I can only imagine the beauty that is going to come out of your craft room when you start creating.

I love those magnetic metal containers with the screw on lids. I don't have any, but I love them.

  7. I know that jealousy is a bad thing and I am willing to admit that I am so so so jealous of all of your craft stuff!!! I collect ribbon, I don’t know why but I just love ribbon. SO I put a wooden dowel through a shelf and hung all of my ribbon on it so it looks nice and I can see what I have! Other than that im a mess!

  8. I'm not good at organizing, or a very crafty person... and, I actually love your room just as it is. I like being able to see what I do have, as it makes finding things faster/easier. So when I do organize (sport stuff, winter vs. summer clothes, etc), I'm usually a fan of the see-through tupperware for shelves (I know, not very cool).

I liked someone else's idea of the magnetic metal containers with the screw on lids (used for spices).

And I saw a blog post or magazine ad once that had a shelf above the doorway. Great use of space, and good place to put 'rarely used, but necessary on occasion' items.

Good luck organizing! Like I said, I already love your craft room. Fun color.

  9. Well, I'm not very observant, am I? :)

I gushing over soule mama's craft room, and the funny thing is, I was just on her site yesterday. Guess I know what I like, and am consistent.

Can't wait to see more of your room (I did think the color looked different than I'd seen before, which is what tipped me off to go back in your blog and notice that I wasn't looking at your room- ugh!). I was also thinking how phenomenally fast you got your craft room up and going! Guess the bells in my head just weren't loud enough on this one. Maybe I need a nap. lol!
