Bits and Pieces

Here are a few of my favorite things around the remodeled upstairs. NOTHING has been decorated yet. I am beginning to take it easy and am getting used to the idea of waiting to do any major decor projects until after baby has arrived. I'm getting tired.

We got this chandelier on clearance for $10.00 bucks at Lowe's. It has made it's home in Abby's room and she loves it!

Mmmm... I love the way the bathroom turned out! It feels luxurious.

{even if we are sharing it with three children for the time being}

Presenting the refinished hardwood floors. My husband is amazing! These lovely floors are found throughout the entire upstairs {minus the kitchen and bathroom}.
Here is the door that leads from the kitchen down into the basement. The color is delicious!

My favorite light fixture ever!

Here's a shot of my dual color cabinetry. I heard some people thought I was crazy picking more than one finish, but I love it. It opens up my tiny kitchen and makes me happy.

The kitchen tile. We went with a brick style laid diagonally. This also open up the small space.

These are the doors we chose. I LOVE them! See the base molding? Ryan and his dad milled all of it themselves. You should come check it out. It's very impressive!

p.s. Can you feel it? Fall is in the air.
More about that later this week...

  4. What's amazing is that these pictures do not even come close to doing it justice! Everything has turned out so beautifully, and I didn't even see the "before" house. I love Sarah's idea too!

    When Karen and I walked into your kitchen, my first words were, "I never would have thought to do the cabinets in the two different colors but I LOVE them!" I think you're right, it does open up the small space.

    Okay, I'll stop gushing now!

Looking at these pictures makes it so tempting to pull my sleeves up and do it again. I LOVE fixing old things and making them beautiful. GREAT JOB!

  14. You took a rough stone and made it a jewel for sure! I love EVERYTHING you have done. What an addition to the neighborhood. I mean you guys, not the house! (I sure wish we hadn't put down carpet over our wood floors. I wonder if I could rip up the carpet then refinish the floors before Leon got home from hunting. Probably not huh?)
