"Breakfast" Easter Weekend: Part 2.

We spent the weekend in Spokane visiting our dear friends the Pecks. Thanks to Priceline we got a smokin' deal on a hotel room downtown. The hotel was advertised as having a continental breakfast which, Easton and Ryan discovered after their early morning run, it did not. We were hungry and desperate times call for desperate measures...

Krispy Kreme, here we come!

Our little family had tasted the delight that is a Krispy Kreme, but had never had the opportunity to visit one of those glorious locations. Oh what fun we had! Upon entering that sacred temple our eyes beheld a conveyor belt ushering the crispy, creamy confections on their journey that would end up in a charming green polka dot box.

(Easton's sporting a goofy 1st grader smile, Abby's posing like usual,
and Owen is angry. It was 9:15 and the poor boy still hadn't eaten breakfast.)
The donut workers must have seen the drool slipping from our lips, because they promptly offered us a fresh-off-the-conveyor masterpiece. Words cannot describe the silence that came over our starving children as they savored every bit of those gems.
Before we could leave we had to buy TWO fresh boxes. One box full of the "original" and another full of sprinkled, filled, maple and chocolate covered delicacies for us to share with our friends.

  1. So cute. I love how Owen is angry because it is 9:15 and where is HIS breakfast! Adorable.

I wonder if the Krispy Kreme people will go to hell for offering the world so much temptation.....just me thinking.

  3. I first discoved Krispy Kreme in Utah a few years back and have been hooked ever since. All those kids who do fund raisers here love to see me coming! Microwave them for 11 sec and they taste just like they come fresh!

I agree with Heather, good thing there is not one around here!

  5. i love doughnuts. krispy kremes were a definite tempation in st. louis - they were everywhere and here there aren't the awesome stores but just in the gas stations so i'm not so tempted. :) it's just not the same as having them hand you a hot fresh one off the belt. oh i am sooo hungry now.

  6. Oh, you are KILLING me!!! I had read about Krispy Kremes in People magazine as a favorite among many celebrities, and was always so curious as to what the hype was about. Then we bought some for a fundraiser and they were all I had dreamed of and more. And that wasn't even fresh off the conveyer belt! I am way impressed the most anyone ate was 4!! I'm embarassed to say how much I would have eaten.

  7. I grew up eating Krispy Kremes in Georgia and was thrilled when the chain made its way to the West Coast. They are sooooo good! I would hate to see how many points one doughnut is though, since I can't stop at 4 or 5!

How is the Peck Family doing? Do you have any updates?

  8. Daniel is doing really well. He is no longer living in the hospital, and has chemo treatments 4 days a week. His doctors are amazed by his progress and the whole family is looking forward to summer when they can all be up there together.

  10. Krispy Kreme stores are going out of business all over the country. Interesting, I never thought the hype would die down when I was waiting in line for an hour or more in provo just to try one... Cute pictures.

  11. danyelle - how do i post a comment on a post that doesn't have any comments on it yet? there is just an envelope to email but i don't know your email.

  12. Noelle, when there is just the envelope that means that I am not "allowing comments" (as blogger puts it) for that particular post.
